MEET MEGHAN //

My name is Meghan and I’m a wedding and lifestyle photographer based on beautiful Vancouver Island.

I grew up on a small farm in the Cowichan Valley, where I spent countless hours roaming the property with friends, catching frogs, picking flowers, and taking photos.

I fell in love with photography when travelling through Vietnam and Australia. The portfolio I created from that adventure got me into the Professional Photo Imaging program at Langara College. After graduating in 2007, I stayed in Vancouver and spent a few years second shooting until 2010, when I co-founded Sweet Heirloom Photography with my dear friend Tanya.

After living and working in the big city for a few years, my soon to be husband landed a job in Victoria. We made the move back to my hometown of Duncan and after having our dreamy little wedding in Sayulita, Mexico, settled into a lovely little house on a quiet street with creaky floors.

In my free time I enjoy the simple pleasures in life: Spending time with my loved ones and snuggling with my cat; going to the weekend market; swimming in the lake; chatting with friends by a campfire; listening to podcasts; exploring the island, and travelling to new places.

I never say no to a new adventure or a good bourbon sour, and I really love meeting new people.

WORK WITH ME //

I delight in what I do! I’m easygoing, friendly and adore shooting outdoors. Whether it’s a celebration of love or a mid-week adventure, I do my best to document your story in a way that feels natural and genuine.

I truly love photographing people. For me, it's all about capturing their inherent beauty and documenting the authentic moments happening in their lives.

Since my clients are the main focus of my inspiration, I like to work closely with them to create a comfortable atmosphere. Although I do offer some gentle guidance for naturally posed portraits, I want my subjects to feel like they can laugh and move freely. This allows me to capture authentic moments in a relaxed and artful way. When you can soak up the experience and truly connect with one another or yourself, you tend to forget about the camera.

When it comes to my approach at weddings, I like to capture everything naturally as the day unfolds. Whether it’s the big moments or small, I focus on documenting your authentic story and connection. When you look at your photos I want you to remember the emotions you felt that day - The excitement, the big smiles, the deep laughs, and possibly the tears.

Most of all, I want to provide tangible representations of your love that can be felt and adored for generations.
